The Anne & Jean Francois Ganevat Les Corvees Trousseau is an incredible example of what happens when a rare grape is handled by an esteemed winemaker, delivering it to a wider audience of wine drinkers.
The aromas and flavours are complex and inviting: cherry, raspberry, plum and violet, and some spicy, peppery and earthy tones which give the wine immense depth and interest from the first sniff. The wine was aged for a year in a mix of foudre (very large barrels) and amphorae (large clay vessels), so there is no oak influence. This is a delightful wine and definitely one of the best examples of Trousseau you’ll find.
