The Anne & Jean Francois Ganevat Barraque Cotes du Jura is a lovely counterpoint to their vin jaune made from Savagnin, with freshness and fruit purity.
Old vines found on the ancient soils of Jura are the source for this Savagnin. It is amazingly complex and its deep golden colour belies its true age, as it’s still presenting youthful fruits (grapefruit, lemon, apple) but has started also showing some bottle-age characters, such as honey and a pleasing nuttiness. It’s zingy and zippy in the mouth, with acid that will make your teeth tingle and a full body give it weight and presence in the mouth. Take your time with this baby.
